TSA sanctioned Cross Duathlon and Trail Run event in and around the Garden Route Dam will be on the 8th June 2013. Individuals and Relay Teams will be able to compete in the Duathlon Event.

Format: Individuals and Relay Teams

Age Limits:

  •  Main Duathlon - 18 years old and above as Individual and 16 as a Relay Team
  •  Lite Duathlon - 16 years old and above as Individual and 14 as a Relay Team
  • Trail Run - 14 year old

Entry Fees:

      Main Duathlon

  • Individuals       R250 (min age 18)
  • Relay Teams     R400 (2 per team, min age 16)
  • School Relay Teams   R250 per team (2 per team, min age 16)
  • Event Fees exclude the TSA Day license fees of R50 per team or R30 per individual (please join TSA to avoid the day license)

       Lite Duathlon:

  • Individuals             R200 (min age 16)
  • School Individuals  R150 (min age 16)
  • Relay Teams           R300 (min age 14)
  • TSA Day license fees applicable (R30 per Individual and R50 per team)

Pre-entry fees for the main duathlon includes Trisport arm warmers

Trail Run Entry Fees: R120 (no T Shirt) T Shirt can be ordered, see Entry Form

Prize Giving: 14H00, lot of spot prizes

Prize Money to Main Duathlon (10% of Total Entry Fees)

1st Male and Female: 70% of Prize money

2nd Male and Female: 30% of Prize money

Route Description: (The Bike Transition area will be on the NMMU Rugby Field)

Main Duathlon:

The 1st Run will follow the "9km of the Groeneweide Hiking Trail" all amongst the indigenous forest on trails. The run will be followed by a 2 x 12 km mountain bike loop around the George Dam which will include numerous single tracks. The last run will be a 4km. The Main Duathlon route is not technical and will be suited for beginner Duathletes that have a reasonable fitness.

Lite Duathlon:

The 1st Run will be flat a 4km run on the NMMU sports grounds, followed by a 12km Mountain bike loop which will include some single track sections. The last run will be a fast 2km run. The Lite will not be technical and is suited for beginners.
