Cycle over 3 mountains in 3 days, the Langeberge, the Rooiberge and the Outeniqua berge with the Gouritz river traversing between the Langeberge and the Rooiberge. An exciting Non Technical MTB and CycloCross Bike Stage Event. You can choose the full distance each day, or you can share the distance each day with your friend or company in a Relay Team. Suitable for CycloCross Bikes and great MTB training for the Epic or any other Stage event you are planning to do the next year. Great Team Building weekend. This event is a great way of ending the year where you will get spoiled each day with a massage, great food and great hospitality in the areas the race traverse through. Gouritz Biosphere Trans Outeniqua
Crossing 3 mountains over 3 days, the Langeberge, Rooiberge and the Outeniqua Berge in the Garden Route. See the best of the Gouritz Biosphere Cluster by doing this event, each day in a different area, staying 2 nights at a different lodge / guest house at a different town.
We now also includes a CycloCross Bike category in the Trans Outeniqua event. We also give you the option to enter as a relay team, this will allow you to choose doing only half the distance each day. It is a circular route over 3 days, from the the small hamlet Great Brakriver (25 km from George and Mosselbay) to Van Wyksdorp to Oudsthoorn and back to Great Brakriver. Each day you will ride to a different town.
The Distance each day is split up into 2 legs. You can enter as a Relay Team or Solo The Relay Team (2 people) will cycle 1 leg per person each day. Solo (1 person) will ride the whole distance over 3 days. You can enter with your Company or with your friends.
Corporate Entries: 10 and more entries from 1 Company will get 10% discount pp.
The Gouritz Biosphere is one of the biggest Biospheres in the World and includes the following towns: Montagu, Swellendam, Barrydale, Ladysmith, Prince Albert, Oudtshoorn, Mosselbay, Uniondale, De Rust.

Relay Teams (2 per team): Riders cycle only 1 of the 2 legs per day

Relay Teams: R4000 per Team (include lunch each day)
Solo: R2000 (Include Lunch each day)
Day 1: 65km and 71km = 136km
Day 2: 40km and 39km =79km
Day 3 : 64km and 59km = 123km
Total distance over 3 days = 338km
Terrain: On gravel roads and quiet tar road sections, NO major roads, No technical riding
Each Corporate Team (10 or more) are allow to display there branding at the start and finish of each day’s ride. There will be a professional Photographer which will showcase you as a team. Each Corporate Team will receive a photo CD after the event.

Compulsory Equipment (for your own safety):
As a precaution, we would like you to carry the following compulsory equipment with you during the race. It is for your own personal safety. Please adhere to the following:
- Cell phone (on roaming please)
- zip lock bag to keep phone dry
- Emergency food
- Water bottles
- Sunscreen (factor 50)
- Outer shell jacket (waterproof)
Please ensure that you have the compulsory equipment with you at all times during the race as conditions change.

Athletes wanting to cancel will forfeit the following part of their entry fee:
25% of the entry fee will be retained for admin costs, the balance refunded if written notice is received before 1 August 2017.
50% of the entry fee will be refunded if written notice is received from 2 August – 1 September 2017.
0% will be refunded after 1st September 2017, if a goody bag is applicable it will still be available the athlete
Athletes cancelling may transfer their entry to another person, but that person will have to accept that changes to sizes etc. of clothing in the goody bag may not be able to be made if they are not available – when goody bags are applicable.
25% of Entry fee will be charged for any transfers for admin costs.
Entries may unfortunately not be transferred to 2018.
