The Outeniqua Hiking Trail is a spectacular trail and can be conquered as a series of day walks or over a full seven day period, starting at Beervlei in the upper reaches of the Park and ending at Harkerville in the East between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay or as the Outeniqua Quest Trail Run non stop.
This trail carves its way in the cool shade of undulating indigenous forest with rustic huts, a stop-over, for those endeavoring the seven day trek, or as an alternative starting point for those day walkers relative to the level of challenge you desire. The overnight cabins are regularly stocked with firewood.
As darkness falls, the once blue sky, through pockets of forest, fynbos and different vegetation types during the day; now exposes a brilliant black sky pitted with billions of stars, buffered with the sounds of surrounding nocturnal activity. Perfect whether you are a stargazing astrologist, star-crossed lovers just seeking a romantic getaway or simply bonding with friends.
For those who have love for the sea, this trail makes its way down to the coast where beautiful rock formations may be explored, photographs taken or picnics enjoyed. Sea caves are often visible along this portion of the trail and tell of the sheer landscaping power of the Indian Ocean. This trail offers an unforgettable experience sure to leave walkers reeling with euphoria.
The Outeniqua Quest is a non-stop 108 km Outeniqua Hiking Trail in the Garden Route National Park, Western Cape, South Africa. More than 100km of pure trails will have you traversing sections of the Outeniqua Mountains and the indigenous Forests of Knysna and surroundings while you are exploring the full length of the Outeniqua hiking trail. It is well known that there are a few very shy Knysna Elephants along the 108km hiking trails, you might just spot them in the distances between the indigenous trees…
A pristine and very special Trail run in the Garden Route National Park of SANParks, South Africa. Run on the pristine 108 km (normally a 7 day hike) Outeniqua Hiking Trail. No big gravel roads, only single track and jeep tracks for 108km.

Compulsory Equipment for all the Outeniqua Quest runners (for your own safety):
As a precaution, we would like you to carry the following compulsory equipment with you during the race. It is for your own personal safety. There will be a Kit check before the Tour starts. Please adhere to the following:
-Cell phone (on roaming please), zip lock bag to keep phone dry
-Long Thermal base layer (pants and top)
-Headlamp with enough spare batteries
-Sunscreen (factor 50)
-Outer shell jacket (waterproof)
-First aid kit
Please ensure that you have the compulsory equipment with you at all times during the race as conditions change quickly up in the mountains.

Athletes wanting to cancel will forfeit the following part of their entry fee:
50% of the entry fee will be refunded if written notice is received before 31 January 2018.
No refunds will be done from 1 February 2018
Athletes cancelling may transfer their entry to another person, but that person will have to accept that changes to sizes etc. of clothing in the goody bag may not be able to be made if they are not available – when goody bags are applicable.
20% of Entry fee will be charged for any transfers for admin costs.
Entries may unfortunately not be transferred to 2019.

It provides a much-needed facility for our members to arrange lifts or offer lifts to various running events or even to and from our club.
Almost 70% of people that enter events drive to the venue on their own so it makes sense that our participants share their vehicles with other participants coming to the event.
The benefits of sharing rides to the event include:
- You are able to meet fellow participants who share your passion for running.
- If you are a driver you can recoup some or all of your petrol costs by offering a lift.
- If you need a lift it will cost a fraction of the cost of travelling there with your own car.
- Ladies can get lifts with lady drivers only if they prefer.
- More parking and less congestion at the event as there will be fewer cars.
- With fewer cars on the road, it helps our environment by reducing CO2 emissions.

6:00 The bus pick up the Non Stop runners and Ultra runners and take you to the Start of the Outeniqua Hiking Trail, at Beervlei hutfor the Non Stop and at Milwood for the Ultra
7:30 Race start at Beervlei hut for the Non Stop 108km and at Milwood for the Ultra
17:00 Cut off at Millwood house for the non stop 108km runners
Finish at Hakerville Hut.
