A Woman’s only Trail Run event at Benguela Cove Wine Estate on the Botriver Lagoon, close to the town of Hermanus, Western Cape.
The town of Hermanus “proper” meanders along the western cove of Walker Bay between magnificent sea cliffs and the foot of the Olifantsberg Mountains. Hermanus Pieters, an itinerant teacher of Caledon farmers’ children, was the first permanent resident in the early 1800s. Having come across a fresh spring and greener pastures he settled on the shore of this enchanting bay.
Benguela Cove is a leading producer and wine destination, at the start of South Africa’s Hermanus Wine Route. Discover and enjoy the finest award-winning wines from their quality vineyards.
Benguela Cove’s vineyards benefit from the unique conditions of the estate’s location at the ocean’s edge, on the southern coast of South Africa. The south-easterly sea breeze is chilled by the Benguela Current flowing up from Antarctica, to cool the grapes at night after the warm summer days, irrigated by above-average rainfall, for perfect viniculture.
