Press Release: Trisport is proud to announce the newest member of their organisation, namely Juan Botes. Juan is the well-known Chain Gang Events Race Director from the Wilderness area in the Garden Route. He has organised and was also involved in some of the biggest Sport events in the area. His past events were all quality events and his attention to detail is well-known.
From the 1st of March 2016, Juan will be an active member of the Trisport Team and in the future his events will form part of the Trisport stable of events. Although he was formally trained in Business Management and Analysis, his love is sport and he was hooked for life since he found his niche with organising sport events. He was fortunate to travel the world, some of it whilst in the military and after that as a Mountaineer (Middle East) and then as a Business Analyst in Europe (London). The travelling allowed him to take part in various international races and to develop a “feel” of what is important for participants. His unique way of always trying to keep it interesting for both the participant and sometimes undervalued Supporter/Spectator, makes him a big asset to the Trisport team. Founder of TriSport, Sonja Terblanche-Otto, is very excited about Juan joining the Team. “We have always believed in working together and taking hands with other Organisers. With the right Partners, TriSport can become one of the leading Sport Management & Adventure Companies in South Africa. Juan has a lot to offer, and we believe we can now reach our Goals faster.”
Juan is also very active in youth-development and many youngsters will already know him via the Spur development mountain bike and triathlon events from the past. He is also very active with NGO’s with his favourites being: The Seven Passes Initiative, NSRI and CANSA. His personal motto which he applies to his work as well truly applies to life: “The Brave do not live forever… But the cautious do not live at all”
