The Mountain bike Safari takes place in 3 different Game Reserves in the Cape Province, South Africa. You will ride in 3 different Game Reserves in the Gardenroute where 2 of the Game Reserves are Big 5 Reserves. You will be supported by a game viewing vehicle and rangers of the Game Reserves to keep you safe. These 3 venues each offer something unique to the rider. You will also summit the famous Swartberg pass!

Ride in 3 Game Reserves in the beautiful Cape province, South Africa – maximum 16 people

The Mountain bike Safari takes place in 3 different Game Reserves in the Cape Province, South Africa. 2 of the Game Reserves are Big 5 Reserves. You ride for 3 days, each day on a different Game Reserve. The last day you will summit the Swartberg pass as well as ride in the Game Reserve on the way back to the lodge

Costs for the 4 days, 4 nights pp, all accommodation are en-suite and 4 star Game Reserves

Day 1: 45 km (Gardenroute Game Lodge, Big 5)
Day 2: 45 km (Buffelsdrift Game Reserve, Big 5)
Day 3: 54 km (Swartberg pass and Wildehondekloof Private Game Reserve)

Compulsory Equipment (for your own safety), weather dependant:

As a precaution, we would like you to carry the following compulsory equipment with you during the race. It is for your own personal safety. Please adhere to the following:

  • Cell phone
  • zip lock bag to keep phone dry
  • Space blanket
  • Backpack
  • Long Thermal base layer (pants and top)
  • Whistle
  • Hat
  • Emergency food
  • Headlamp
  • Water bottles
  • Sunscreen (factor 50)
  • Outer shell jacket (waterproof)
  • Small First aid kit

Cancellation Policy

No refunds will be made due to Covid 19. If we have to cancel/postpone the event due to any unforeseen circumstances including Covid 19 we will transfer your entry fees to the new date

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TRAVEL INSURANCE COVER ANY INJURIES, ILLNESS OR CANCELLATIONS FOR ANY REASONS SUCH AS AN PANDEMIC, TERRORISM, FORCE MAJEUR.

Transfers

Athletes cancelling may transfer their entry to another person, but that person will have to accept that changes to sizes etc. of clothing in the goody bag may not be able to be made if they are not available – when goody bags are applicable.
20% of Entry fee will be charged for any transfers for admin costs.
Entries may unfortunately not be transferred to 2021.

 Riding days – 3 days:

Day 1: 45 km (Gardenroute Game Lodge, Big 5)
Day 2: 45 km (Buffelsdrift Game Reserve, Big 5)
Day 3: 54 km (Swartberg pass and Wildehondekloof Private Game Reserve)

Accommodation

Accommodation is included in your rate with bedding and towels.

The units above sleeps 2 people, double or 2 single beds and are all en-suite. If you want to stay single, a supplement of R4000 will apply. You are responsible for your own sharing friend.
