A brand new 4 day fully catered Mountain bike Camino where you will Traverse from the top of Nigramoep Guest farm to the West Coast Sea of Namaqualand and back over 4 days.
Discover your inner self while you mountain bike for 4 days/5 nights from the top of the plateau from Nigramoep Guest farm to Kleinsee and back to Nigramoep.
You will descent and ascent over the 4 days more than 2500 meters from Nigramoep Guest Farm towards the West coast town of Kleinsee and back. Special permission and permits were obtain to ride over many private properties and would not have been possible without the support f the local farmers. The 1st day will be longest, but fast as it is mainly downhill. You will cross many private properties and will stay at beautiful remote areas. The terrain will change from a mountainous area to desert, red dunes to the white sand at Kleinsee. You will be spoilt with great food each night, a shower and even a proper toilet in the middle of nowhere where we will set up the overnight camp. The cycling routes are mostly on hard surfaces with a sandy patch now and again, but sandy roads were avoided to ensure you have a great ride.
Namaqualand remained a very quiet place during the cultural evolution until about 2000 years ago. This was when the Khoikhoi or Nama arrived from the area that now encompasses northern Botswana. The region is known for its cultural history, which was preserved by the Nama and Khoisan tribes. The Nama people are the largest group of Khoikhoi people.
