Fully catered SlackPack Hike for 3 days on Wildehondekloof Private Game Reserve at the foot of the Swartberge. 3 Days/3nights of great hiking in the Swartberg mountains. Hike each day and experience the Swartberg mountains. After the hike a lunch will be served by the Wildehondkloof staff in the Bush where after you will do a Game drive back to the lodge where we will overnight each night.

3 Day/3 Nights fully catered Slackpacking Hike

3 Nights at the 4 star Private Game Reserve. Wildehondekloof is situated at the foot of the Swartberge – maximum 18 hikers 

Slackpacking Hike on beautiful trails while you watch the Game and stay 3 nights at a beautiful 4 star Private Game Reserve, enjoying great food and the tranquillity and peace of the Game Reserve. You will only carry a day pack and receive a Out of Africa Lunch in the bush each day where you finish the hike. This is a fully catered hike, to make sure you can just enjoy, sit back and take in the beauty of Wildehondekloof Game Reserve. Minimum 4 people per hike.

Costs: R7950 pp sharing (Single supplement of R1000 pp per night)
Extra day and night at Wildehondekloof if you want to enjoy the Game Reserve another day: R2000 pp (includes dinner and Breakfast)

Bookings limit to 18 people max

Compulsory Equipment (for your own safety):

As a precaution, we would like you to carry the following compulsory equipment with you during the trail run, weather dependant. It is for your own personal safety. We will decide what you should take with depending on the weather. Please bring along the following:

  • Cell phone
  • zip lock bag to keep phone dry
  • Space blanket
  • Backpack
  • Long Thermal base layer (pants and top)
  • Whistle
  • Hat
  • Emergency food, bars etc
  • Water bottles
  • Sunscreen (factor 50)
  • Outer shell jacket (waterproof) in case of rain
  • Small First aid kit

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel  you will forfeit the following part of your fees:
20% Admin fees on the amount paid
50% of the entry fee will be refunded if written notice is received before 1 February

No refunds will be done after 1 February

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TRAVEL INSURANCE COVER ANY INJURIES, ILLNESS OR CANCELLATIONS FOR ANY REASONS SUCH AS AN PANDEMIC, TERRORISM, FORCE MAJEUR.

Transfers

20% of Entry fee will be charged for any transfers for admin costs.
Entries may unfortunately not be transferred to 2021.

Route

The trails is on single tracks and jeep tracks on the Reserves

Hike Distances:

Day 1: 15km
Day 2: 12km
Day 3: 11km

 

Accommodation

3 nights Accommodation at the 4 star Private Game Lodge is included in your rate with bedding and towels. . The rooms sleeps 2 people, 2 single beds or 1 king size bed. If you want to stay single, a supplement of R1000 pp per night will apply. You are responsible for your own sharing friend.

Schedule

Wildehondekloof, situated in the Swartberge, Klein Karoo, offers unrivalled scenery, unspoilt nature, a variety of wildlife and a high number of endemic species. Enjoy the wide open spaces of the Klein Karoo and appreciate the beauty of the succulent Karoo, Cape Thicket & fynbos. Wildehondekloof is a Private Game Reserve with many antelope species such as eland, nyala, black wildebeest, hartebees, blesbok and many more.

   

PLEASE NOTE: Please arrange your own transport to Wildehondekloof Private Game Reserve.  It is about 5 hours drive from Cape Town

14H00 Arrive at WildehondeKloof Private game Reserve,
17H00 Sunset Sundowners with a view, snacks and 1 drink will be provided,
19H00 Dinner

Friday:

07H30: Coffee and rusks and more
08H00: Start with Hike
12H30: Lunch in the Bush
15H00 Drive back to the lodge and do a Game drive on the way
18H00 Dinner at the lodge and relax around the fire while we share the stories of the day.

Saturday:

07H00: Coffee and rusks and more, drive to the finish point the previous day and a Game drive on the way
08H00: Start hike
12H30: Lunch in the Bush
15H00: Drive back to the lodge and do a Game drive on the way
18H00 Dinner at the lodge and relax around the fire while we share the stories of the day.
