Moep to Sea (Namaqua to Richtersveld) 4 day/5 night MTB Tour

Feedback from Aleida Stoltz after completing the Moep to sea on 7 August 2026

Aleida: “My take on Moep2C 2026 🚵🏻‍♀️❤️”

Four days. Four unforgettable chapters. One incredible adventure.

We left Johannesburg and headed for the wild beauty of Namaqualand, where our journey began at Nigramoep.

Day 1 introduced us to endless climbs, rugged terrain and landscapes unlike anything we’d ever seen. Nigramoep is an absolute gem, and the perfect place to begin an unforgettable adventure.

Day 2 reminded us that the Northern Cape is anything but flat. Technical descents off Kasteelberg, relentless headwinds, unforgiving gravel and spectacular scenery carried us all the way to Houthoop.

Day 3 tested our endurance. Long gravel roads, weary legs and endless kilometres made us dig deep before rewarding us with coffee in Port Nolloth and a well-earned shower at McDougalls Bay.

Day 4 took us into the heart of the Richtersveld beneath brilliant blue skies. We laughed our way through 14 deep sandy river crossings before the mountains demanded every ounce of strength we had left. From there, it was simply one pedal stroke after another until the finish.

Looking back, Moep2C was never just about the kilometres.

It was about discovering places we never knew existed. It was about a group of people—some a little under 50, some a little over—who refused to believe life should only be about work, routines and responsibilities.

We laughed until our stomachs hurt.

We shared incredible meals around the table.

We spoke about life, family, business, cycling and everything in between, learning to appreciate the unique story each person brought to the journey.

Somewhere along the way, strangers became friends.

The kilometres will fade…

The friendships, the laughter, the shared stories and the memories of this extraordinary adventure will last a lifetime.

Thank you, TriSport, for introducing us to one of South Africa’s most spectacular and least explored regions.

Until the next adventure… ❤️🚵🏻‍♀️🌍 keep the rubberside down (and the batteries charged 💪🏻)
